Who we are!
I am Gary Battrick, and along with my business partner Wayne Rushton, we launched 'The Estimating Company' (TEC) in 2023.
Wayne and I both held senior management positions in the Estimating and Plan Drawing departments at one of the UK's top estimating firms.
Why we started The Estimating Company!
We were frustrated with estimates that benefited the company more than the builders funding them, so we launched our own estimating company to implement the approach we believed was right and to deliver the highest quality estimates for our clients.
Why the blog?
We have daily conversations with our builders regarding their projects and how these influence the estimates we are developing. This leads to numerous intriguing insights that we believe could be beneficial to other builders or homeowners.
Neither Wayne nor I are exceptional writers. We are practical individuals with extensive experience in the construction industry, and we excelled when we ventured into estimating and plan drawing. However, we've consistently received positive feedback by being straightforward, so that's our approach, and we hope you appreciate it as well.
